The Key Metrics: Countries, Companies, Couples
The debate in the US is now raging around the feisty new voices of a whole host of leading women (Sheryl Sandberg, Anne-Marie Slaughter, Marissa Mayer, Stephanie Coontz). It is absolutely fascinating to watch it play out, between the Fix the Women strategies and the Fix the System suggestions. The problem, of course, is that you need a bit of both. But you need leaders like Sandberg addressing the bigger picture. She could take a cue from her own prescription, and “le an in” to changing the rules of the system she’s in. And get a lot more men involved in the conversation now entirely dominated by women. But then she is the only woman on the Executive Team at Facebook and the only got on their board after an outcry that there were no women at all.
