Low Numbers for Women Get Worse in Florida
Women hold fewer board seats and still well less than 10% of executive posts
- There are US states where women are making noticeable gains in the corporate world, but Florida is not one of them, to view the data from the latest survey of the Southern state by Florida Trend.
- The number of board seats held by women at Florida companies fell to 7.4% in 2008 from the 8.7% in the previous report, in 2006.
- Not only that, but 63 of the 150 largest publicly held companies in the state have not a single woman on the board or in an executive post.
- That said, the percentage of senior posts held by women increased slightly, to 7% in 2008 from 5.4% in 2006.
