Women Mean Business Conference in Mumbai
- The Women Mean Business Conference was organised in order to bring together highly successful professionals from across India to share their knowledge and experience across a diverse range of sectors.
- Women have come a long way in India in the last years in reducing the gender gap. Primary education and health services are good examples. However, the gender gap in the workplace and in business, across the world and in India, persists. If we want to address the economic and social challenges, we need to reduce this gap through active engagement with multiple stakeholders.
- The one-day conference will consist of keynote speeches, discussion panels and smaller workshops. The Foundation will use the ideas generated in the conference to develop concrete projects in partnership with local organisations, incorporating the newly formed network of contacts.
- Speakers include Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, CEO, 20-first, Cherie Blair, Founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, Nandita Gurjar, Senior VP and Head, HR, Infosys, and Chanda Kochhar, MD & CEO, ICICI Bank Ltd.

The Cherie Blair Foundation Mission
Cherie Blair’s passion and commitment to championing women’s rights is well known. The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women was set up in response to Cherie’s experiences meeting and talking to women worldwide and the realisation that, with some help, these women can overcome the challenges they face and play an important part in strengthening the economies and societies in which they work and live.
