Women take control of the US economy
The data leaves little room for doubt: women are quietly taking over the American economy. In a recent blog entry, Susan Gunelius, President & CEO of KeySplash Creative and owner of Women on Business, exposes a number of key facts that suggest just how much progress has been made by women. Progress that isn't about to stop.
- In 2008, the U.S News and World Report revealed that women controlled 60% of the wealth in the United States.
- That’s “just” $10-$12 trillion.
- The U.S News and World Report estimated that those $10-$12 trillion will turn into $22 trillion by 2020.
- Just last year, The Nielsen Company disclosed data from which it became clear that, over the past 15-20 years, nearly all income growth in the United States came from women.
- The Small Business Administration also reported that women-owned business exceeded all other businesses when it comes to growth.
- And people are starting to notice:
-Advertisements are starting to target women specifically.
-The number of products aimed at women are rapidly increasing.
