The Ministry for Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysia, runs an annual conference, The Women’s Summit, which has become an important focal point for discussion on issues affecting women and their role in nation-building. The Summit looks specifically at women in the workplace – issues such as empowerment, achieving work-life balance, mentoring, leadership etc. It is attended by 1000 – 1200 women from the public and private sectors, non-governmental organisations and academic institutions in Malaysia.The Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia always opens the summit and delivers the keynote address.
This year will see the 8th Women’s Summit. It will be held in Kuala Lumpur on December 8th and 9th.
