2012 NAFE Top Companies for Executive Women
The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has released its 2012 list of Top 50 Companies for Executive Women. Each year NAFE accepts applications from for-profit companies that have at least two women serving on their boards of directors and at least 500 United States employees. The application includes over 200 questions relating to the representation and advancement of women in the company.
BY THE NUMBERS
- On average, women represent 53% of the Top 50 companies
- Women make up 23% of their boards (compared to 16% in the Fortune 500)
- 10% of the companies have female CEOs, down from 14% in 2010 and 2011
- 22% of executive officers in the Top 50 are women (compared to 14% in the Fortune 500)
