Slow but Steady Gains in Nonprofit World
Women Now Run More Than Half of Smaller Organizations
Women ran 55 per cent of U.S. nonprofits with budgets of less than $1 million in 2006 but only 36 per cent of those with larger budgets. Both results were higher than in 2005, according to the 2008 GuideStar Nonprofit Compensation Report. And while women still make less than men, the gap is closing, if only slowly.
