"Female-Oriented Working Practices" Are What U.K. Firms Will Prefer
“Lateral, collaborative, flexible and creative”: Those are the skills British companies will be seeking this century, The Future Laboratory found in a report done for Microsoft Windows Mobile. And the switch to right-brain abilities, more often described as feminine, is a direct response to the “new economy” model that proliferated so recently in such sectors as finance and media. “Soft skills will reign supreme in the UK workplace over the next 25 years,” said the Microsoft executive who outlined the results, adding, “We’ll see a greater shift towards more equal opportunities for women, and as this research demonstrate, who may even be in a stronger position than their counter-parts.”
