U.S. Contracts for Firms Owned by Women
Program Aims to Help Women Get Their 5%
The U.S. federal government sets aside five per cent of procurement contracts in four fields for companies owned by women. The number of fields is on its way to being expanded to 31. And yet not more than 3.4 per cent of such contracts go to the eligible firms. So American Express and a women’s organization have teamed up to help women-owned companies get their share, providing information on the program and instruction on how to apply.
