The Equality Bill in Parliament would demand that British companies offer greater transparency on gender-based pay. Business groups, including the CBI and British Chambers of Commerce, are opposed to that approach. Instead, various companies offered solutions ranging from using government funds to promote women in the workplace to pushing voluntary self-monitoring of pay.
