State Commission Fights Wage Gap
Transparency and Recognition Are Main Tools
The State of Colorado Pay Equity Commission proposed that the state take action to fight the wage gap. Among the recommendations: Create a recognition and certification program; push regular self-audits; urge transparency in terms of minimum and maximum pay for various jobs; codify state rules for allowing discrimination charges over repeated violations; and encourage flexible human-resource policies.
