Zimbabwe Turns to Women to Aid Economy
But Export Fair Is Limited to State-Trained Entrepreneurs
- Zimbabwe’s Women Entrepreneurs Solo Exhibition, October 24-25, is titled, “Transforming the Zimbabwean Economy through Enterprising Women”.
- The government’s ZimTrade organization is focusing on helping women build export markets.
- But in a country where years of tense standoff over one-party power are just now perhaps ending, a ZimTrade manager noted that the fair is only for women trained by the export promotion body.
*Zimbabwe recently reported an annual inflation rate of 231 million per cent.
