Did Hollywood Forget Women?
This summer’s blockbusters, The New York Times reports, were made by men and aimed at young men. Women hardly need apply. The studios increasingly pass on even weepies and date movies, never mind serious fare that portrays women in sophisticated roles. Even in action movies, the main fare at present, women are ever rarer behind the cameras as well as onscreen.
