Women More Ambitious Than Men
They Expect Greater Growth in Their Small Businesses in UK
An everywoman/NatWest survey of 1,500 entrepreneurs in the UK found that:
- Female entrepreneurs predict on average up to 25% growth in their small businesses in the next five years, well above their male counterparts’ expectations.
- Such growth would add £12 billion to the UK economy in the next half-decade.
- While only 74% of the men expected to see their business post growth over the next five years, 88% of women expected an increase. Only 14% of women were happy sustaining their businesses at the current level.
- 55% of women work to a business plan, compared with only 34% of men.
- 47% of women allocate specific revenue and profit targets to their business, compared with 37% of men.
- But women demonstrated less awareness of financial support for their firms, with only 48% showing familiarity with such services vs 74% of the men.
