- 36% of British women do not get the chance to have flexible working conditions, according to the recent Working Better report by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
- 88% of those surveyed said flexibility in scheduling and location is important (who were those other 12%?)
- Just a quarter of the women surveyed said that after having children they had the same access to desired jobs as men; 40% of men said they had the same opportunities.
- Nicola Brewer, chief executive of the EHRC, was quoted as saying: “Flexibility is a tool many British businesses use to unlock talent. Changing the way we approach parental leave could be one way of tackling the gender pay gap.”
