Based in variables from pay to child care, California comes in first
- SmartMoney, the investment magazine, picked the best fifth of US states for working mothers and has ranked them.
- The magazine used such variables as the proportion of female managers and relative wage gaps; childcare rankings and parental tax benefits; the number of companies to win kudos from the Families and Work Institute. And it adds, “[W]e spoke with experts.”
